When the Toufayans arrived in America in the early 1920s, Harry Toufayan and his father began building a business that would help bring the pita bread of his childhood in Armenia to massive popularity in the U.S. Harry, along with his son and daughters now run one the largest family-owned specialty bread bakeries in the country.For almost 90 years, the Toufayans have been filling lunch boxes, toasters, and tummies with fresh lines of pitas, flatbreads, bagels, wraps, lavash, and breadsticks. Today, Harry Toufayan is the "boss" and "dad", while Harry and his three adult children, Greg, Karen, and Kristine, run the company with the passion and love of a family building a business based on a legacy of baked bread. The Toufayan family has been baking breads with quality and care since 1926, the year they opened the first bakery.
