About

Over 1 million pounds of solid wet wipe waste will be flushed each day. This wreaks havoc on plumbing & sewer systems, and disperses micro-plastics such as rayon, polypropylene & polyester into waterways. Fohm eliminates the need for wipes by turning your existing toilet paper into a wipe that's legitimately safe to flush.

They created a touchless dispenser and a gentle cleanser that sits right on top of your toilet paper — so after you wipe, you’ll feel cleaner than you did pre-poop. The best part? It won’t clog your pipes or your planet. The cleanser is a pH balanced, fragrance & paraben free version of what you find in a wet wipe, making it safe for the most sensitive skin.

Founding Story

Founded by husband and wife, Jerry & Alissa. After meeting as next door neighbors in NYC in 2012, they would use their vacation days from work to explore different corners of the world together. From Argentina, to India, to Japan, they realized that dry toilet paper wasn't the universal standard across the world like it is here in the US. They decided the way we cleaned our butts back home was ready for an upgrade after 150+ years of it staying the same. 

Before Fohm, Jerry worked in marketing with brands that are probably in your bathroom right now. He noticed the rise of a new product category on store shelves — flushable wipes — but knew the marketing claim of "flushable" wasn't exactly accurate and that many brands were using questionable ingredients.

So they started thinking about what an entirely new product would look like. They did a lot of research and a lot of testing, and ended up with a touchless system designed to be good for your bum, your pipes, and our planet.

They started Fohm out of their NYC apartment, launched it in 2019, and immediately started making waves in the toilet industry. They’ve been in Business Insider, Bloomberg, BuzzFeed, New York Magazine, and more. Now Fohm is on a mission to completely redefine the $2B+ flushable wipe category and move it to a more sustainable future!
